The Gout Out® Story: Born from an Unexpected Joint

Hello, I am Campbell Suckling, the founder of the Gout Out® brand.

When most people think of gout, they picture a throbbing, swollen big toe. So, when I started experiencing agonizing, burning joint pain, I didn’t suspect gout at first. Why? Because the pain wasn't in my foot—it was in my thumb.

While upper-limb gout is less common as a starting point, the agony is exactly the same. After navigating the frustrating cycle of sudden spikes and painful flares, I realised that trying to manage uric acid reactively wasn't very easy. I began researching botanical extracts and clinical studies to find something that I could not only use myself but also add to our range of health related products sold by my NZ company, Maxalite NZ. 

Due to the high order volumes required to manufacture in New Zealand, I started looking offshore for a formula that was already proven to work as a starting point for Gout Out. But during this deep dive, I hit a major realisation: a single supplement capsule isn’t necessarily a magic bullet.

Over the course of 2 years of research I found that to master uric acid management, you can't just guess—you get the best results if you track your uric acid levels, and use diet changes and supplementation to address the peaks and troughs of uric acid fluctuations.
